What Does Your Business Card Say About You?
What does your business card and promotional materials say about who you are?
It probably has your company name and logo, all your numbers, your email address and possibly your website.
But does it say you are a “proud member of the Home Builders Association”? I have a feeling not too many would say yes. But until you start using this affiliation you will never set yourself apart from non-members. Until you hand a prospect not only a card that says you are a professional but the promotional material that says WHY this is important, you will never set yourself apart from non-members.
NAHB can provide us all the promotional materials we need and your Executive Officers and Linda Donato will be working on getting them to their offices as soon as possible. Pick some up when you get the word that the materials have arrived. Hand them out when you meet people.
But only you can make the change to your own business cards and promotional material.
I’ll show you mine if you’ll show me yours!

In other business-
On October 21st your Executive Officers and local leaders met with me and the HBAM Executive Board to begin the process of sharing information, working together for the common good, and getting to know one another better. I was very encouraged by the spirit of cooperation shown.
Those attending were:
- From the Home Builders and Remodelers of Western Mass: EO John Lilly, President (and HBAM President-Elect) Walt Tomala and HBAM 2nd VP Mike McDowell
- From The Home Builders Association of Greater Boston: EO Sue Abt, President Craig Meyer, and President-elect Wayne Delpico
- From The Bristol Norfolk Home Builders Association: EO Ron Costello and current President (again) Charles Magri
- From The Builders Association of Central Mass: EO Guy Webb, President Chris Lund, and in-coming President Ron Flosser
- From The Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Cape Cod: EO Suzie Roettig, and VP Rob McPhee
- HBAM Executive Board members Rich Gagnon, Secretary, and John DeShazo, 2nd VP.
- We were also joined by Linda Donato and past HBAM Presidents Gary Ruping and Mark Leff.
As you can see a pretty impressive group. They are all willing to volunteer their time and talents to make your Association more valuable to you and more recognized by the consumer.
Our goals are to make your membership more relevant to you, to make the consumer aware that doing business with a member of the National Association of Homebuilders is important to them, and to make non-members know that they must join us or lose business share.
Anything you can personally do to help get this message out would be greatly appreciated.
Why not start with your business card?
Judy Jenkins
HBAM President
