Foundation Created to Honor Britney Gengel, Daughter of HBAM Past President Len Gengel
Dear Fellow HBAM Member,
After a long ordeal, Britney Gengel has come home to her family. The Gengel’s HBAM Family has watched, waited, and prayed for them all. After feeling helpless for so long, we can now pay our heartfelt respects to Len and Cherylann Gengel and the Gengel family.
Len and Cherylann have set up a foundation to honor their daughter. Just an hour before the earthquake, Britney told her mother that she had discovered what she wanted to do with the rest of her life – help the poor. The Gengels have therefore named the foundation, “Britney Gengel’s Poorest of the Poor Fund,” and it will provide funds for people in Haiti and locally in Massachusetts as well. We all now know that Britney had a special place in her heart for those less fortunate than she, especially for the children. While not all of us had the privilege of knowing Britney in life, we can continue her work by honoring the family’s request that in lieu of flowers, a contribution be made to the Foundation the Gengels have set up to do just that.
You can find the website for the Foundation at: http://www.britneygengelspoorestofthepoorfund.com
Over the years Len Gengel (Past HBAM President, Past BACM President) has been front and center for our association and the industry that has provided us with so much. We believe that, in a small way, we can ease his terrible burden at this time by supporting Britney’s Foundation.
It would be appropriate to note with your contribution that you are a member of the Home Builders Association of Massachusetts so that Len and Cherylann know that they may not know us all, but that our members feel for them and honor his years of service to our Association. If you wish to donate checks instead of on the website, you may forward them, made payable to Britney Gengel’s Poorest of the Poor Fund, P.O. Box 355, Rutland, MA 01543.
Sincerely,
Judy Jenkins, HBAM President
Mark Leff, Past HBAM President
